FISCAL BENEFITS FOR FOREIGN REGISTERED
INDIVIDUALS & COMPANIES
Malta registered companies are subject to a tax rate of 35%. However, non-resident shareholders enjoy fiscal benefits as Malta’sfull imputation system of taxation caters for extremely beneficial tax refunds.
- Trading income – shareholders can apply for a tax refund of 6/7ths of the tax paid by the company on its trading profits through which dividends are paid. The result is an effective tax rate of 5% on trading income.
- Passive income – shareholders can apply for a tax refund of 5/7ths of the tax paid by the company on its passive income through which dividends are paid. The result is an effective tax rate of 10% on passive income.
