BizSpark is a global programme which aims to help ICT start-ups become successful businesses through access to Microsoft tools and technology as well as software support. “Despite the current economic climate, Microsoft is continuing to invest in the industry and the ICT market. We aim to encourage Maltese entrepreneurs thinking into starting an IT business, to take the plunge, and will provide them with the technical support they need in this challenging environment,” Microsoft Malta country manager Pierre Mallia said. Finance Minister Tonio Fenech welcomed the programme’s introduction, noting that it would reduce costs for start-up companies. He also said that the programme complemented current Malta Enterprise schemes. Malta Enterprise will act as a conduit for the BizSpark programme, providing guidance and support for Maltese start-ups to develop and grow their businesses. The BizSpark programme will be made available to companies and individuals building a software-based product or service who have been in business for less than 3 years. It will be formally launched at the Hilton Malta Conference Centre on March 20 at 0900h. Participation is free, following online registration.
